NOVA MOB take matters into their own hands -- having had enough of record
company and distributor hassles -- and release a limited 7" on their own
Tontine Records label, "Shoot Your Way To Freedom" b/w "Ballad No.
Nineteen." Each record sleeve is a one-of-a-kind original.
The band features former Hüsker Dü drummer Grant Hart on guitar and
vocals, Tom Merkl on bass, and Marc Retish behind the kit. Alternately
pounding and passionate on this new single, Grant and the band offer only a hint
of their potential to create exuberant and thoughtful rock music.
In May, these two tracks will appear on a four-song EP that will be available
everywhere on CD and cassette. And later this year, the band plans tore-
release their critically acclaimed, but currently out-of-print debut album, The
Last Days of Pompeii. NOVA MOB are touring the eastern United States
during May and June (tour dates enclosed), and then they embark on yet another
European tour. They'll hit the western half of the U.S. this fall.
Check out this single, spread the word, and go see NOVA MOB when they come
to your town.
