Originally a shoe factory, the Rossmor Building, which occupies the entire block of N. Robert St between 9th & 10th, eventually became a squat with lofts favored by artists, musicians, and the usual Bohemian suspects in the 1980s. Hüsker Dü rehearsed here in Nov 1987, working on songs intended for the never-to-be followup to to the Warehouse album. Grant Hart lived here for a while at about this time. The Jun 1988 bootleg recording of Grant with Yanomamos and the Swallows was made here, as was [note: subject to confirmation] the commercially-released Yanomamos album Quizas.

It was only a matter of time before some developer recognized that there was value in those loft spaces, and the place was condoized in 2003.
