Release Date: Spring 2005

formed in 2003 "to provide an unmediated space in
which artists can make a direct connection with the
general public." The CD project is described on
their website:
"Early this year, we sent an email inviting Esopus
subscribers to submit descriptions of their
imaginary childhood friends. We then passed along
the 25 we received (describing everything from
distinctly human activity pals to vaguely
threatening letters of the alphabet) to 13
musicians, each of whom chose one friend as
inspiration for a song."
The magazine sells for $10 in the US. Grant sings
and accompanies himself on what sounds like a
melodica, along with some sort of synthesizer.
Other artists featured in addition to Grant include
