The Brewery was a live music venue at 3009 Hillsborough St that operated from 1983-2011. The building was demolished later in 2011. Top photo dates to circa 1990; the one below it is undated. The shot of the graffiti-covered building was taken shortly before demolition, and the one below that immediately after. Bottom image, from 2021, shows that the entire block was replaced with a large multi-use building complex. Hüsker Dü was scheduled to play The Brewery on 14 May 1985, but the show was postponed when the band was summoned to London for a gig at Camden Palace that was recorded for the Live from London TV program. The date was made up on 25 Jun 1985.
