The extinct Jockey Club at 633 York St, shown in its glory days in the black and
white photo above, was demolished and replaced by empty space, used for parking by
the cab company next door. In two of the newer photos (July 2007), the "Antiques"
sign remains visible on the building to the right, although it's been repainted
and the "Howes" ("Lowes?") part has been scrubbed off. Old-timers in the
neighborhood disagreed about the location of the club, gone since the 80s, but
the photographs provide pretty convincing evidence.
