Though it's not clear how much of the current structure is original, Neue Welt,
at Hasenheide 107-113, was first used as a beer garden and performance space in
the latter half of the 19th century. By 1930, when Adolph Hitler gave a speech
here, it was a concert hall with two rooms, a larger one and a smaller one. Per
original venue closed in 1982 and reopened sometime later as Huxleys Neue Welt
(the smaller room being designated Huxleys Jr), which was still in operation as
