Venue notes: Supper Club, New York NY

The Supper Club was a night club and music venue located at 240 W. 47th Street in Manhattan from 1991-2007. The building, which dates to the 1930s, was originally the ballroom adjunct to the Edison Hotel next door. Some years later (60s?) it was converted to a Broadway playhouse and renamed the Edison Theater, where the play Oh! Calcutta! had its 13-year run from 1976-1989. The Supper Club slipped into decline in the mid-00s. In 2007, new leaseholders took over, renovated the space, and changed the name back to Edison Ballroom. The above info was gleaned from the excellent history of the building found here. No other info available.
