Venue notes: Irish Centre, Northampton UKDefunct social club and sometime music venue that was located at 32 Abington Square, in the old Abington Square Mission building. According to Getty Images, the mission was built in 1878-79 and closed in 1977. The Northampton Irish Centre Facebook page (which looks to be operated by a fan of the place), claims that the Centre opened in 1973. From the modest smattering of online info, it seems that most of the music events there took place in the 90s. A BBC news report indicates that the owners were granted a license in October 2002 to convert the then-shuttered Irish Centre to "gentlemen's club," Urban Tiger, which was still in operation as of December 2017.[Do you have more information about this venue?
