Venue notes: Liberty Lunch, Austin TXDefunct music club formerly located at 405 W. Second St in Austin. Opened in 1976, started booking live acts in 1978, and ultimately became Austin's premier club venue before closing for good in 1999. For an institution that once held such prominence, there is surprisingly little residual info on the Web about it. The official website was once found here, but at this writing (2012) the link just heads to a holding page put up by the current owner of the domain name.
